no, but I had my 71 455 sitting on the floor next to the spare T56 for my camaro going HMMMMMM?
but anyway, I think McLoed makes a bellhousing to make it work

Yes, check w/ McLeod. It's not a simple bolt in, that's for sure!

Just found it on summit MCL-8710-00 says its for a nailhead, but it's also "universal" so I'd wager it bolt to anything with a Nailhead, BOPC, or chebby boltpattern. Now that would be fun. Looking at it to possibly put a T56 behind a 300 for some fun freeway cruising.

Just doing some research for ya'll

MCL Bellhousing is NOT for a nailhead

I went to the SUMMIT site to see MCL-8710-00 and its various engine applications. The earliest Buick V-8 engine it fits is 1967, definitely not a nailhead. :ball:

I am currently doing an engine swap (1997 LT1/6spd T-56) into an 87 Jag XJS for a customer. Although the T-56 is a good transmission, it is expensive, even used. Another disadvantage of a stock GM T-56 is the shifter location which is located too far back for most cars including the Jag. What I am doing is replacing the tail housing and mainshaft with a Viper stuff which moves the shift location forward about 4 inches and moves up to a larger 30 spline mainshaft .

A better way to go for the folks without a trans is the Tremac TKO series 5-speed. It has multiple shift locations and I've seen them for $1700 new. Keisler has some of the best COMPLETE kits for different cars but you will pay for it. Here is the link http://www.keislerauto.com/
