Sounds like it MAY be a grounding problem. A VERY IMPORTANT part of the design. IF the grounds aren't that good it will give these sort of symptoms. Tom T.
There’s a good write-up with pics here. I found it helpful when I did the power bucket in my ‘65: https://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t52070477/restoring-a-60s-vintage-gm-6-way-power-seat-unit/ I was missing a couple of the nylon slides that colonel mentioned in an earlier post. I found those here: https://bestoffercounts.com/product...-glide-slide-bucket-bench-1961-1976-gm-buick/
I found it was the switch! I took it apart and cleaned it with deoxit electrical cleaner and now it works. At least I have a clean transmission now too. I just vacuumed the track and base to clean the dust. I didn’t see any nylon washers, etc on that part.
so I found one had fallen out but the rest were good. It still moves easily so I’ll put it back together for now. But this is what they look like and where they are located.
Anyone have extra cables? I crushed one of the ends . This is on the passenger side, the long cables.
