'62 Buick Skylark 2dr hardtop - sell $500 or trade UPDATED photos toward the end of the thread..... Restorable 1962 Buick Skylark 2dr hardtop (no post). This car needs total restoration and has no engine or transmission. Was originally a 215 V8 car with automatic. Has padded dash option, as well as clock option and power steering. Engine was carefully removed - nothing was hacked up. Also all wiring under dash is nice and original. Interior needs total restoration. Has some rust through on the lower passenger quarter panel and door, but most all other rust is surface rust. Also has original hubcaps. No title, it has been misplaced, but most cars this old, you can easily obtain a title from some company in AL I am told and some states dont even require this on cars older than 1975 I am told. Will sell for $500 :dollar: or will trade for a restorable 1971, 1972 or 1973 Cadillac Sedan DeVille or Fleetwood, 1971-78 Ford Country Squire wagon, 1971-73 Buick Electra 4dr, or a automatic Toyota truck. Car is in northeast Tennessee. More details and photos on request. Help save this car from the jaws of the crusher! ray: These photos were taken in February...
Well, I have been offered $200 for the clock, $50 for the hubcaps and trim and $50 for some misc parts. I prefered to sell it whole, but looks like I may have no choice but to part it and crush the remains. I will hold off a little while longer to see if someone may be interested in the entire car to restore... again, $500 or will trade for a 71-73 Cadillac DeVille 4dr or Fleetwood Brougham or 71-73 Buick Electra 4dr / Estate Wagon in restorable condition.
Anyone needing parts, let me know. I think my uncle is going to start parting next week. The man down the road is getting the crusher to his junk yard and this thing will soon be heading there since there is no interest in it. One guy is supposed to look at it this week, but if he dont buy it, it will soon look like a pancake.
Finally got around to cleaning the car a little and thought I would offer it here one last time.... here are updated photos.... MANY MORE available on request.
Other than the clock (which we were offered $250 for), does anyone have any clue as to what some other parts are worth or would we be better off crushing the whole thing? Thanks.
I would think tail lights, grill, any trim, bumpers if they are good, radio and dash. Sorry to see it crushed, but I know you've tried to get rid of it for a while now.
Hey Shaffer! HOLD ON A MINIT! I will be posting a very similar 62 Lark for sale shortly...except this one is complete! AND running! However, it may be an option for a new buyer to have access to another DONOR CAR for parts....I have'nt been able to do thorough research on this guys car yet (he is the one with 7 Buicks I've been listing) but perhaps I will work on that this week. Keep ya posted! Here are a few quick pix: Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Yeah, seems most people are wanting the late 60s/early 70s models these days. Thanks for that information. Yeah, hopefully someone can use it before its crushed.
Final update... $450. FIRM or will strip off those two parts (clock and trim) and crush it. It has to go! $450 firm or trade for 71-73 Cadillac, 71-73 Electra or Estate Wagon, 59-60 Impala 4dr, 59-60 Cadillac 4dr.
DONT CRUSH this car! PLEASE!!! The time you've taken to try to sell it off whole, you could've simply striped the pieces one-by-one and posted them on eBay...fenders. Doors. Grille. Core support. Wheel well trims. Brake parts, engine parts Interior panels and instrumentation..etc....you could probably net well over a thou$and dollars by the time you have sold most everything AND THEN still get $$ for junk weight! Just a thought!!! If you dont mind bringing the car to me  I would do EXACTLY THAT!!! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
shaffer; if you deside to part the car out i would be interested in the trailer hitch and windshield wiper switch, maybe other parts too? thanks george, are you near knoxville.
OK... I will let you know. Actually, I am 120 miles northeast of Knoxville... in extreme northeast Tennessee.... very near the Virginia state line.... just off of I81.
If you do decide to part out I'd like the front fenders, front and rear valances and possibly the front marker lamps. Let me know what you would want for them. Greyhound is good for shipping larger items.
Sorry for the late reply... car was sold a couple of months ago to someone that was going to restore it.
Just in case you guys didn't see this one: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=198388 Wheelz, Tampa Bay
