Started getting the pieces of the interior together for "Jewel" these last couple of weeks..got the interior rear window trim and thought I would see how it looked before I painted it. Seems as though all vendors sell the parts produced by Trim Parts Inc. Anywhoo, it appears that this $119 kit is listed as fitting all 64 to '67 "A" bodies, but when it comes in, the boxes are marked as '64 Chevelle. Ok, so what is the problem? Simple, the Chevelle is a shorter window (roof to deck) than any of the other "A" body cars, leaving only one alternative of having to buy another three piece kit ($38), so you can trim the vertical pieces out of the 4ft cross piece. I called Trim Parts today , and had a very nice conversation with the young man. We discussed the possibility of Trim Parts lengthening the side pieces possibly 4 inches and allow the end user to trim to fit. Changing the length from the current 16 inches to 20 inches I sure would cost less than a nickle, and should allow this kit to fit not only the Chevelle, but also Skylarks, GTO and Tempest, Cutlass and 442, ect. Enough already, just remember, if you are going to replace these parts, measure before you order, or go through the same aggravation as I have... Don '64 Skylark Sport Coupe "JEWEL"
