I just replaced the gas tank on my 64 Sport Wagon (I'll post details in the wagon forum), and I kept the old one just in case someone needs an original to restore. It's rough, and looks like it was used as a trampoline, but (as far as I can tell) it's original, and these are nearly impossible to come by. I also have the original (I think) straps and sending unit. The shop that helped me with my new tank said that my old tank could be restored, it would just take a lot of work (and more money than modifying an off-the-shelf, new tank). See pics for a better look. I didn't have any leaks, and I found the inside wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. So, if you can use this, it's yours. Otherwise, in a few weeks, it's off to the scrap pile. Free for pickup just outside of Chelsea, Michigan (35 minutes west of Ann Arbor).
