    Hello,

I'm new to V8Buick, I've been enjoying this website for a few months now. I was hoping to get an opinion from you guy's on a Wilcat that I was looking at possibly buying. Looks like it needs a lot of work but he's looking to get rid of it for $900, and I might be able to talk him down further. Is it possible to get some opinions?

    Thanks!

Unmolested 1965 Buick Wildcat for sale. Original nailhead motor (401, marked 445 on the air cleaner) still has factory chains to hold the motor in place. No air. No Radio. Body is in good condition except for 2 cancer spots one in each bottom corner of the decklid. Headliner has been removed. Front grill is bent. Back tires are flat, front tires were bought new 3 yrs ago . Was last turned over 8 months ago. Will have to file for lost pink at time of sale. Was last registered 3 years ago.

Howdy-The pics came up small for me. Looks like you will need to do a heater core and the engine cables are a service recall to hold the engine in place in case of mount failure. If the mechanicals are good you are ok. If the engine/trans are cooked and you need to do brakes/exhaust, it's easy to get upside down with the $ on a car like this as they have limited value unless very nice-good luck...and shoot us your name and home-

    Very cool!
Does no radio mean its been removed or its a radio delete?
Grilles are fun to work on. Delicate and lots of parts. :puzzled:
    I'd grab it!

IMHO, talk him down a couple hundred more  and you'd be into a car that a) with a few dollars and a BUNCH of grunt work would be a nice driver or b) you could at the very least part it and get back out of it what you bought it for. I also say go for it - and don't forget to check for a posi rear! :3gears:

Yes, the pictures are qutie small :puzzled: but from what I can see it looks like a decent project in the making.
A heater core job on one of those is not for the faint of heart, might be easier on one without AC, but still a major chore.
I think that I wouldn't part that car out since it seems pretty much all together, unless you find some major rust issues or hidden evidence of previous collision repairs.
I've only seen one '65 radio delete plate in my entire life, and it was in a Lesabre.
I tried buying it but I would've had to take the whole car too and that was just too much. :Dou:

Hi Dan-the last pics are fine. I have the same car in about the same shape-it runs out and goes down the road very well. Hard to beat the ride of a B/C body perimeter frame. Since you're in Calif, I'd say buy it as I've found west coast parts car prices are higher than that! I have a '66 that spent it's first 35 years in the Stockton and Modesto areas-

  9. go for it
they do not get much cheaper than that
car looks fine and getting it the way you want it to look is most of the battel after you buy it
    can't do it before
good luck and let us know
