Completed 350 mile trip to OBX (Outer Banks, NC)car show. Paint has cracks. Looks good from 10 feet. Car came from Florida. Chrome has some pitting due to humidity while stored in Florida.Convertible top is in excellent shape and goes up and down a little slow. T-10 4-speed. Front disc brakes. Interior is from Year One and is very nice. Rug is about 80%. This is not a numbers matching car.
It's a clone/tribute GS. It was built as a Skylark V6 convertible. Not saying the conversion is bad - just saying be aware of this.
Not a dumb question at all. I was looking at this car when it was available from the previous owner in Florida. Have many pictures of it. Current owner said he got it about 3 years ago from Florida. I have a picture of the firewall plate attached. Note is is a 44367, which is a Skylark V6 convertible.
The sellers description says it's not a real GS: >>>"This is not a numbers matching car. This car was professionally converted from a Skylark, by taking the engine, driveline, suspension and front disc brakes from a '65 Gran Sport that had body damage. So, it is a survivor tribute."<<
That last part in the owner's description was recently added (wasn't there initially). I think the current owner perhaps became more aware of what that car was after putting it up for sale, and properly provided the additional information. I would have to give the seller a lot of credit for adding in this content if he became aware later of it. For the price, it still may be quite worth it (to some).
