A friend of mine has a real nice 65 Riv. He also has a 455 nearly ready to install. What frame pad Fabrication or "whatever" are needed? Anyhone out there have a set of drawings showing how the modified or fabricated frame pads should be installed? 'Preciate any responses.

It has a stock Nail Head in it now. He wants more power, wants to cruise the car and travel with it. He will retain the original motor and trans. Anybody out there with ideas on mouting the 455 in the Riv.

A good starting place, but no gaurantees is look at the 67 Riv engine mounts. I will guess that the mounts might be similar for the needed location since the 66 Riv had a nailhead. But that's just a guess.

Oh Lord, the nailhead guys are going to squawk at this thread. I say go for it. A lot of people do a lot worse things than that to the 63-65 Rivs.

Be forewarned... there is a lot more fabrication involved than just engine mounts...

I've heard it done, and everyone tells stories about how involved it all is.

Build the nailhead. You can get aluminum valve covers and belly pan for it, then top it with dual quads.

Do the headers and alternator upgrade and put an MSD in it with a crank trigger.

Y, I would not do it myself but it's not my Riv, it's a friends. Still, apparently he has the wherewithall to get it done....glad it "t'aint" me.
