My local parts guy, who can get me pretty much anything I need, said it wasn't available. Any help from you guys?? I know someone out there can help. Thanks Joe:TU:
You're looking for the DS-740. Moog/TRW discontinued them a few years ago. Only one I have found new is sold by Southwest Speed: http://www.southwestspeed.com/?sec=view_part&id=925 Not sure if they are made by them in the US, or if they have them made for them (read China). A call might answer that question. Put DS-740 in ebay. There's a guy selling the Southwest Speed version for $89.99 + shipping. OPGI and YearOne list them - k'ching! But don't know who makes them.
Joe, Here is a link to one on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1964...trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ260215329535 Keep us updated on the car. Bob jerseysky66
Is it the same part for both the Skylark and GS? I may have one way over here in WA State... have to look-n-see this weekend. Are these really that hard to find with all those parted out cars out there? (or was this part typically scrapped?)
Same part for all A body cars. Since it is a suspension part with joints on it, my guess is it's one of those "Since I'm changing everything else in the front end, why not this too?" I have been working on that principle myself. I spoke to a local suspension shop, and the guy there claims he has never seen where one needed to be replaced on a street driven car. That said, I'll probably be replacing mine too!
did you try kanter out of new jersey they ussually have anything for the front ends all rubbers and everything www.kanter.com i beleive Greg
Thanks Greg. I got all the remaining front end parts from a guy in long island that Walt hooked me up with. This guy has cheap prices for good parts. Also ttt for info.
Nos fuel pump for 401, 4 top of the line shocks, brand new rear drums, motor mounts, trans mount, front coils and new u joints. He also had a gaggle of front end stuff, much cheaper than what I paid. But I got all Moog stuff. I didn't ask him what brand of stuff he had, just didn't want to know if I got ripped off, so I just didn't ask. Good guy who loves to talk!!! Thanks Walt.:TU:
There is a little danger in broadly stating that all A bodies '64-72 are the same. The '64s and early '65s had a smaller diameter stud on both the idler arm end as well as the pitman arm end. If you can swap out these for the bigger studs, then there is no problem but there was a difference in the early a body center links. I'm glad things worked out for Joe but I figured a little further education would be a good thing for all.
Craig i have been looking for rebuild parts for my 66 wildcat but all i have been able to find are off shore ( Chinese) parts. Do you have any access to Moog or other US Brand front end parts for the 66 Wildcat?
Re: 66 Wildcat Front End Center Link Fresh rebuilt from Rare Parts, $295.00, plus $150.00 core charge. Top quality parts. Let me know. Thanks, Bob.
This thread is 3 years old, you might want to start your own thread for parts for the Wildcat in the parts wanted section.
Damn, you've been pretty much GONE from this site since you got married!:bla: The parts guy, Craig, posted a reply, but it got deleted. Must've broken some rules?
