You do VERY nice work! :bglasses:
I'm curious what the "tall" console looks like with a four speed shifter growing out of it. :Brow:
How about posting a picture of it??

I wish I could claim this work as my own! Its in a shop in Springfield, IL. Progress on my coupe was (in 2001) so slow sending this one out to get done was my 40th birthday present to myself.
I'll have to scan a pic of the console Robert. The 4-speeds had that little hump console and a choice of 2 different consoles between the seats. They use the same base, the tall one is way cool-
Check out an earlier thead in cars wanted to see the low console in my 4-speed Wildcat coupe.

Here is my work in progress

Some cars are nice drivers. Others are fun to cruise or race.

I consider a car like this with a ground up restoration all of them but also a work of art.

Put me in you will, unless you decide to take it with you.

    Success

in picking up the ragtop. It needs the interior finished now. It is very cool-no plates yet but tore around the neighborhood for the first time- the nailhead will burn rubber NOW!... Heads, cam, dist and carbie by Carmen Faso, 4-speed 1st gear is 2.20:1 same as a rock crusher Muncie, more of a road racing selection for the gears but with all that torque it doesn't matter. I have the totally stock exhaust-very quiet! What fun...4-speed full size cars rule!

Oictures soon Have to clean the road dirt offa the car.

1 year + update, not done YET!

Ok, so I did a search and came up with this post again and look at the date! Crikey, its been a year and the car is finally in the upholstry shop. Still waiting for SMS to make the interior door panels, but the seats, top and trunk are getting done now. I will drive it without the door panels. SMS got my parts in Jan. Good thing I have a truckload of patience here, but its running out.

SMS moved their shop to a larger location this summer, thats part of the problem.

Still no door panels? Whoa.......that's a long time. I'm wondering if I should use them or not. I really want to see how they turn out. I don't remember, are you going Custom or Deluxe.

    Ted,
Okay I have admit that you have me drooling again and also bustin my butt to get my "CAT" on the prowl!:TU: ! The car is looking real good! Please keep me and us posted on the car! I might steal some ideas for myself! . I just sent out my back seat to get redone. I am staying with the original vinyl with a little different color.

    Keep up the great work!

Hey thanks! The panels are ordered through Ron Fryer, who is there in Vancouver and has a ton of stuff @ SMS thats all been held up by their move this summer. He was going to have a talk with them Friday about gettin er done. Other than that, I'm just trying to stay PATIENT, and not the mental type. ;)

All the door panels that SMS does are custom one of a kind and one at a time pieces. At any one time there are several hundred orders in place, so it takes a lot of time. Patience is a virtue. Interior materials should be the first thing on the list to be ordered as it takes longer that most other aspects. As for using SMS, do you have a choice? No, you don't. Theirs is a monopoly on the custom stuff. For your Chevys, use CARS as they stamp them out by the hundreds. A lot of the Mopar and GS stuff comes from Legendary as they do the same. But the SMS stuff is all hand work; they are not stamping out dozens of the same stuff all day long. You will be pleased with the final product, but it take a lot of time.

    Thanks, carstuff44!

I am just looking forward to getting the product so I cancruise this summer! SMS is using NOS material on the panels, and that was not available anywhere else that I found. I will use SMS again, and soon. Just lamenting not having the convertible yet this summer. I have bought 2 Wildcat convertibles and none of them are ready to drive yet. I really miss cruising around with the top down.
