    How do i figure out what transmission do i have.

    On the passenger side of the transmission, there should be a tag riveted to the case. It will have a 2 letter code.

    It has a BJ-65 on it

    Came behind the 401 with 3.07 rear gears. It should be a switch pitch.

    Yes it has a 401 but i dont think the pan looks like that and the plug only has one terminal on it

    so do you think i hook up the one spade on the transmission to the switch on the carb

    yes i still have the part on the carb But the part on the trans only has one spade on it .

    That means the transmission is no longer a switch pitch. You can only hook up the kick down.

    I get it now just got the car a couple of months ago so still learning thanks for the info
    I go to Belmont race track a lot for work
