Are the 66-67 Skylark/GS armrest bases reproduced or is there a vendor who does a plastic rechrome and the red reflective tape on these? The searching I have done has not turned up any, but I could have missed them. The only ones I have found were the generic A-body versions used on the Special. Thanks Rich
I used this company for mine and they were fast and friendly. They even told me where to buy the tape. I had to cut it and stick it on. Send them your old ones and I think it was 6 weeks. http://www.chrometechusa.com/autoplate.html
Do you recall where they told you to buy tape? I had the armrests themselves done by Justdashes--great work really expensive. They look like new. Don't remember the name of company that did the replating of plastic chrome but they simply exchanged mine for ones they had in stock. I was a little leary but they worked out well. Also had air conditioner vent balls rechromed. If you recall where to get tape I would sure like to know--that is one of few items I don't have. Thanks Rod
Check home depot for red reflective tape if not there call the guy at the web site and he will tell you.
Thanks Ed--I sent them a email asking about reflective tape. I ordered my a/c vent balls and replated arm rest bases from Mr. G replating. Here's a link--Good Luck http://www.mrgusa.com/
Original Parts Group says they have "paddle style" arm rest base kits. Part # in their catalog is CK1100 but they don't have a picture. I entered that # on their website but nothing came up. Probably have to call them about it.
I'm pretty sure I've seen someone that makes the correct ones (the longer bases that work with the paddle style door handles) but can't remember who makes em.
Just picked up a role of red reflective tape. Walmart has it at least here in Canada anyway. It`s a role 2 inch wide and 36 inches long. Made by 3M. Found it in the automotive section. John
I used this on mine, and looks/works great! You can also get it in any of the automotive parts stores I.E. Autozone, Napa, Oreilys, etc...
