Hey Walt! My green 4-speed just got back from paint, and we'll be spending the weekend finishing the trim and trueing up the body gaps. I'll post pics.
I tried to buy the complete MR engine and st300 from Dale, a while back, and he got a little flakey when he got offers on bits off of it from other guys, so I backed out. Last I saw, he was still trying to sell the block and heads on ebay....I already have a 4spd vert, so I am not in the hunt, but if you make a deal, do it like a junkyard deal...pay him cash, and trailer it out right there with title in hand. No, No, No......I have enough projects, don't tempt me!
Please post pics of the green vert! There was one on e-bay recently, turquoise with white top and 4 speed that I almost went for. What a neat color!

    Hi Walt,
I'll try to post them, but my work doesn't have photoshop to crop them. My home is now dialup, and would take too long. Here goes...Dan

Thanks guys! I can't wait to break it in and wring it out. Bob, is your car turquoise, as well? It's hard to tell from your avatar. My car is the same one that I have in my avatar picture, which I took before we began the restoration. It was pretty faded, but all original. Dan

    Hey Ajesh,
Great to hear from you! You likey? As much as I love my '70 car, I like the
'66's more...a lot less plastic and more real chrome. I like the look better, too. If only they'd made the '66's with that "Stage 1 sound." I'd love to hit the Nats this year, if I can swing it. If I bring the green car, I won't be showing it, though. I'll probably keep it over at the OK chapter tent, like I did with the Stage 1. Now, how's the progress on your Stage 1 coming along??? Dan

Hey Dan very nice color on the car. I've got the same car but the 67 version. When I redo my car I was going to change the color but after seeing yours I think I just changed my mind. Good job and the car sits real nice as well. Good luck with it. I to like the looks of the 60's era

    Screenman,
I too wasn't sure how it would look, but am an originality nut, ie, keep it the original color, etc. It looks very much like that beautiful teal color they used on the early 90's Camaros. My friend Tony has a trick for making base-clear look like enamel. He mixes some pigment into the clear, so you can't tell it's not full thickness color. It looks like an enamel job, can be buffed and sanded, and will stand up to the elements better.
Ajesh, let's see some pics!!!! Please!!!
While I was there, we found that the body and paint guy had used the wrong bolts on the front end, and left the pass door and fender about an 1/8 inch too far forward. We got a lot done, but it still needs some tweaking. I also need to mount the console, but ran out of time.
I still need the stainless reveal molding for the top of the driver's door, unless one of you guys knows someone who welds and taps out stainless. I couldn't help taking it for a short drive. Dan
