This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. This policy will remain in effect indefinitely, as it has completely eliminated the bad actors from our site, who would spam and hack it, once they gained access. Thanks JW

66 Special/Skylark quarter panels

Can anyone tell me if the quarter panels are the same for the 1966 Special and the Skylark? I am restoring a 1966 Special Deluxe and am having a difficult time finding the panels. Looking at the pictures at my disposal, they look the same, but no one can give me a answer for sure.

They are the same stamping, but the Skylark has the holes in the bottom for the mouldings along the bottom of the car, and the special has little metal studs welded onto it it along the center body line for the trim clips to snap onto for that long skinny moulding down the quarter.
I put a '66 special quarter into my '66 skylark when I restored it back in the late 80's. I had to cut all those metal studs off and make the holes in the lower part of the quarter for the skylark lower trim.
