Interior is gutted, and the buckets/console are going in.

I'm using a 67 shifter in my 66. Does anyone have pictures of where I need to mount the factory shifter & console?

Did the searches, but nothing came up. Thanks!

    :beers2:

Ed I have a 67 body that I think was a floor shift auto. It should have the pocket hole for the shifter. If no one else can come up with a picture and measurements let me know and give me a few days to get to it and I can try to get them for you, thanks Bill.

Bill, do you have the metal part that screws to the floor on the 67s for sale. I could use one if you do. Thanks

Walt, those are the 67 transition parts for a console auto. The hole in the floor is narrow in front and wider in the back.

Walt, you dont happen to have those for sale?
    Thanks

Ed, I only have the pics, no parts.
    I do have a 1967 shifter here.
if I match up the shifter pivot to a 1966 shifter, it puts the 1967 mounting holes 1/2" behind those of the 1966.....
The bend in the 67 shifter falls right on the edge of the floor bump....
This is the best I can do Ed. maybe a 67 guy will confirm.

Thanks Walt! The reference with both shifters is great!

I went to take pics and my camera battery died. The 2 rear shifter screws went through the front lip of the floorbrace. I will go back Thursday since it will stop raining that day.

Ed here are a few. If you want all PM me your email and I will send them all. Somebody cut out the floor section but they started cut at the corner of the hole. The 261/2 inches is from the from top cut. Hope this helps. The last picture is just to show the off set from the bucket seat bracket and not a measurement

Those are great! Thanks so much!

So from the pictures, it looks like the hole is 26.5" from the floor pan to rocker seam? And the opening needed is 5.5 x 4"?

Ignore my pic of my 67 shifter on my 66 floor....it's too far back compared to Eds 67.
Just drill for the 2 rear mounting screws as shown on Eds 67 floor pic, and cut the floor as necessary for the linkage to pass thru. Instead of cutting a big hole, maybe you can 'massage' the floor to clear the linkage?
I use pieces of inner tubes to seal my shifter openings. All you need it a slit for the shifter to pass thru, and the rest is sealed.

I would due like Walt said and try to make the hole small and check the movement of the shifter. You can see where the screws were and remember they cut at the lower corners so will we need to allow for the area that toward the seat bracket. I can double check the hole size tomorrow night. Yes its 26.5 from the seam to the top off the hole.
