Looking at the 2013 Trans Am, I'd have kept the GS!

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

Cecil has a mess'o Trans Ams too...one of the last '76 6.6 4 speed T tops, a 78 "smokey and bandit" edition 4 speed loaded with just 8800 miles, a '99 Vert ..supposed to be a very RARE edition?, and now this '13..in fact that pix Ken attached looks just like his car!!!

I really wish he woulda held onto that 67 GS a little longer so I could sell everything I had to buy it. :spank:

    LOLOL Mike !!

You're now #3 on the list ... and I'll let you know right now the only way its leaving is to make room for 1/77 and even then BigRed might get kicked to the curb first :eek2:

(Can't believe I just typed that after our 20 year love affair but yeah .. Im lovin' Sportn'Wood That much).

... Ohh, you'll need to sweaten up the pot a bit too but you have some time to grow more leaves on that tree

Wheelz - thanks for "... The REST of the Story". Sure miss Paul Harvey - grew up listening to him with Dad.

    Was the car under-valued at 10K ?

X 2. Wheelz, sorry you weren't able to secure that '67. There will be other GS fish in the sea!

Alan... BY ALL MEANS that 67 GS was well worth 10K! ALL original. other'n typical belts, hoses, a wheel bearing. Brakes, tires etc...NOT one factory installed part was replaced. EVERYTHING WORKED. Radio. Front & rear speakers. A/C.

Last time I saw it, EVERY. LITTLE. THANG. WORKED!

I knew this owner very well and he never let anyone touch it all its life.

THAT..was one of the reasons I was stunned he sold it to someone outside our little Buick community.

But like I said, someone showed up at the right time, with the right money and voila. SOLD.

I tried to research WHO is actually doing the work in Clearwater, AND IF this car gets a PROFESSIONAL PAINT JOB.. stripped correctly, prepped and painted using EXCELLENT PRODUCTS, paying articulate attention to details, ie: NO MASKING TAPE.....this car should be at Mecum.. could bring 30-35K IMHO.

However, if its getting a once makover by some 'schlepp-Have-craftsman-spraygun-Will Paint-um-up-shop' to make it shiney.. thats a whole nother story and it could RUIN the integrity of the fact that the car is soo original...

Oh well. Makes me wanna weep thinkin about that scenario. :ball:  :ball:

So, would you have bought it to flip or bought it to keep and treasure ?

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

My very first Buick was a 67 GS 400 4 speed vert... BLUE & Black... I bought it back in 71. That being said, IF I had the chance to buy Cecils car, I had plans and all the FACTORY ORIGINAL PARTS to convert it to a factory 4 speed!
..and I would've sold my meager collection of Buicks and parts (with the exception of my 72 Sun Coupe) and wouold've kept the PRIZED 67 as my enthusiasts car. ie: A KEEPER.

But thats not going to happen now.

UPDATE: I just had a conversation with the new 67 GS buyer from LI NY, Manny. He told me the story of this 67 and how it came about, & most of it was fairly close to truth.

However, he did go on to mention the car is getting a fresh coat of paint by Electrobake.

ya. Electrobake. A glorified name for Earl Schieb type of place. o'ugh.

Scuff and shoot over dead cracked original laquer paint with integrated clear synthetic enamel. Nice.
