Beautiful car.....VERY optimistic price........... https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/vehicle/tpa/2693/1967-buick-gs
I saw it on this video a couple of weeks ago and then I saw it pop up on eBay (https://www.ebay.com/itm/166269504902?hash=item26b66f4d86:g:ai8AAOSwFq5k0dha&amdata=enc:AQAIAAAA4HGA2Z5ZPy6Y23TSDxS52dGcCKOr4h84o5OBojUaIwXLf+NLReZlXxSSt9be4Yt8LSA0wySYQ0bltyrxiMzRmSEQLFRjV+lrfkKk1qnW77yaGdsY6YYIRdA5pE5hqEt7yBKMsaKOx/bn5K6qMkKQTc7dNmYVvSMyC0575Xqo2TpaRUBZc8NlDtjOGDftGofoAQywMUu+PCSm+NEFQ33DkdyRhnMyIYQze47x6e/ZJnz0v6vNH2OQqGo5k6LJ0ZJVzxWW6kJwusbGXGsSDZ853yGuv3x34TFXD/gjZdqkX9q5|tkp:Bk9SR9Tjpaa_Yg ).
That is a really beautiful '67! If you watch the YouTube video, the car is very nice and it sure would look good in my driveway! In my opinion $70k is strong money for a '67 GS hardtop, especially with a non-matching numbers engine. Being from the Fremont plant makes it hard to verify if the car is an original 4-speed or any other options since the Fremont cars don't have the accessory option codes included. I find it interesting that they didn't include photos of any documentation or any other numbers on the car such as transmission stampings. I would like to see the Sloan Documentation that the eBay ad references "For Buick aficionados, the Sloan documentation verifies this is one of approximately only three hundred with factory installed A/C." I know that statement of 300 with A/C is incorrect. Far more than 300 '67 GS400s had A/C. When I asked Sloan Museum about production figures for the '67 GS400 they told me they didn't have any. That's why Mike Trom's production figures book doesn't included '67 data, Sloan did have any, I asked them myself but that was many years ago. Anyone notice the mistake here? Option C1 was not available with option V2 (Chrome Plated Wheels). The C1 Power Disc Brakes required the Rally Wheels which were not even listed on the order form but were included automatically on a '67 A-body Buick with the disc brakes. I could be misreading the trim tag in the photo since it's not perfectly clear, but the car appears to also have a color change. Their ad doesn't show a clear, close-up photo of the trim tag. Why have 100 photos and not include a close-up photo of the trim tag? Anyway, when I enlarge the trim tag it appears to be paint code GG(?) which is Gold Mist instead of NN (Burgundy Mist). If you are going to do a color change, Burgundy is a great choice, especially with the white interior.
Aftermarket disc brake upgrade I would bet. And I agree....these cars wear Burgundy very well. Just needs the right rear springs to get that big ass down where it belongs
I suspect that you are correct about the disc brakes being an aftermarket upgrade on this car because that's not a '67 brake booster or master cylinder and it doesn't have the brass hold-off valve below the master cylinder. I certainly can't fault a person for adding disc brakes if a car is going to be driven. Disc brakes were one of the rarest options on a '67 Buick A-body with only 1.8% of 4000-series Buicks (Skylark, Sportwagon, GS400) getting them.
This Gateway Company i don't get. They have these cars all over and some stay for sale or months and never sell. Seems to devalue the entire lot. Nice looking car though.
