Are these not being made any more? I have placed a 68 climate controll on E-Bay and (stupidly) mentioned that the face plates are available, but they are not listed any more. I have gotten 4 replys wanting to know where they can be had, who can i forward the inquirys to? Thanks.
I'll do some searching, don't recall the guy's ID just now. I do not think they are "in production" though. But he may still have some. I may even be willing to sell one I have that has a small blemish.
Ha David, beat me to it. Do you have a '68 non AC version? the ebay one is a '69 style by the way. DL
dl7256 I have a very nice 68 non AC complete heater control the face plate is very nice. I want $50.00 for the complete set up plus shipping. The cables are all good not broken. I can post pictrues if your are interested. Thanks Bill.
3 years goes by ... I still haven't instal my faceplate yet ou: That was fun contributing for the creation of a part , except for the "brown" part ....
Mine is also still sitting on the shelf. Have not had the opportunity to do any work in that area of the car.
I looked on e-bay and couldn't fnd anything for a '69 with a/c. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place, or with an incorrect search - anybody have a link to such an auction? Thanks. John
I did buy a face plate off the board from the guy in Washington state. I was working on installing it Not sure how> The original one has thin plate with the writing, the a green film behind it and a thin silver behind that. I first took of the top one in pieces, then the green came off in one piece, the the silver in pieces. The three layers are not as thick as the new face plate. Not sure how I will put on. I am thinking to use the green an then put the new face plate on. I need to look at and original with the dash lights on. They were saying that the new plate does not show the light through correctly. The good thing is this is an extra AC plate I had and not the one in the car. The other problem is I do not want to use contact cement, I want to use glue or something I can move the pate in place and the it dries. I know I will mess up with contact cement and not get it correctly in place. Thanks Bill.
Just wonderiing if anyone has put the face plate on there control and how they did it. I am also looking for another damaged one to work with to see if I can install the face plate on. If anyone has one let me know. I will post some pictues of taking it apart and install of the plate, thanks Bill.
John try searching '68. But the part i saw was a '69 ( sliders instead of '68 wheel style) .Not sure when the auction ended. DL
