I can't imagine anyone who saw this in person and knew what it was would have passed on it unless there are issues we can see in the few pics posted. If it runs and drives it's well worth it unless really rotted out or something like that.
has anyone talked with the owner of the car? i have called the number listed for the past couple of days! no answer! if this is a true dealer install of stage 1 parts how would you know?
First of all the Stage 1 option wasn't available until '69. I know I haven't seen everything, but I've never heard of a dealer installed Stage 1.
I have a 1968 gs 400 that was supposedly a stage one dealer package car as well. If I can get a hold of the man that used to own the dealership the car came from I might get some where. I thought my dad had the cam that came from the original engine but I am not for sure if it is it or not. The car has the stripes at the bottom of the rockers and the previous owner claimed the car was 1 of 7. I am not saying this is true, but the car was supposed to be a 370hp option with this dealer stage one package. If anyone has some info that can help me find out how to get the proper documentation I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Ryan.
Thereis no known car specific, outside paperwork, like Sloan, for pre 70 model Buicks. Have you checked the interior of the car and above the gas tank?
There are several articles that mention the 1968 Stage 1 option. I believe it was like the later Stage 2 option where you ordered the parts and your dealer put them on your car. http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/buick-gs/buick-gs-history.shtml
