How many horizontal bars does the GS grille have? I have a skylark grille in the garage andit has 8 I just won an auction on e-bay for a blacked out grille which was auctioned as a GS grille but it appears to have 11 bars? Is this correct for the GS? I've heard from one member here who thinks it's a sportwagon grille. Anyone else care to coment on this? I don't know one from the other.
GS and Skylark have 8 horizontals in 68, the difference being color scheme between GS and Skylark. Otherwise they are the same. The grille with 11 bars is a Sportwagon or Special grille. The center area where the bars come to a point is also different on this grille. It is a solid piece, while the GS/Skylark grille is "open" between the bars all the way across the center point area. I could do pics later.
Here's a 68 GS/Skylark version. Note the open style thru the center of the grille and the # of horizontal slats.
The big question is of course, is a 68 Special/Sportwagon grille worth $350? Will a GS emblem fit this grille as well?
