What kind of performance can I expect from my 68 Riviera with a 70 455 4BBL?

Except from the engine the car is stock.

Just want to know if I'm getting there in regards to tuning etc.

I'd expect low 15s to high 14s. Am I close?

    When i swapped a fresh Stage1 455 with a 118 cam for my stock 400, I expected alot more increase than i got. I went from 15.80 to 14. 80

Then I talked to a few people in "the Know" and they said the stock exhaust was tying up alot of power

With headers and 2.5" exhaust and UltraFlow mufflers I gained alomst a full second !!!!

    I have a 73 riv with a mild stage one with a 113 cam and a 2800 stall. It did a 13.88 with the 2:92 gear still in it(got a 3:42 now, can't wait to try again).

High 14's with a 3.42 gear. With the 3.07 you're lookin' at 15.2@90 mph or so.

    Thanks for all the replies.

Tested it out last night. Got in on 16 & something. (Roughly measured highway track).

Then for the third time, I blew one of the manifold gasket. :Dou:

Had the old 2" exhaust replaced with a new of same size when I got the car 6 mnts ago. (Have since had both manifolds machined and straightened).
I expect the 2" pipes and the mufflers are too small, thereby building up too much back pressure at WOT.

    What's the original exhaust pipe size for a 1970 455 4BBL?
