    Hi, board.

Are trying to find out where to get hold of the two small, (approx 5-6" long), rubber "pads" that are located on each side of the "hood to cowl weatherstrip" on a 68 Riviera.
The "pads" are fitted with three screws each.
    Have tried "Steelrubber", Cars etc.
Also, can not find them in the parts catalog.

Anybody have the part#, or even better, where to order them?

    Hey Per -
As far as I know these moulded foam pieces (with metal inserts) are not available from any source. I ended up with a used set that still had the thin metal insert relatively intact, (after two years of searching). I had to rebond the foam to the metal with contact adhesive. Most of them don't have the metal inserts left as they rusted out easily. The right side is different than the left side, and I could not find any reference in the '68 chassis and body part number manual. The only part listed is the hood to cowl seal strip.
Check with Steve (2manybuicks) - he's stripping parts off a '69 Riv that he found in a yard in Florida - Check posts under Parts for Sale.

    Possible reproduction?

    Thanks for answer.

Same problem here, can not find anything in the parts manual.

I have been in contact with www.steelerubber.com, and they answered me yesterday with the following:

"We have made a pair of these for Cadillac but we have not
seen the buicks. If we could get some good samples we might
    be interested in making them.

Eddie Lail, Steele Rubber Products" elail@steelerubber.com

I attached some pics of my old rubbers, but I don't think they can use them as sample.
Would be great if somebody could send them some good ones, so that we could have them reprodused.
    Anybody????
Also, if anybody is interested, why not contact elail@steelerubber.com so that he can see the demand.

    Per.
