I've been scouring around the forum trying to find out which rear end I have. I'm looking to swap out to a posi with 3.73 gear ratio. I have been able to find 10 bolt 8.2 BOP but based on what I read I'm not sure what I have or what's compatible. Thanks in advance everybody this form has help me put my grandmas(my)car back together.

Here is what i was looking at...
GM 8.2" BOP 10-Bolt Rearend Posi, Gear, Bearing Kit Package for Buick and Pontiac and Olds - 3.73 Ratio https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JI49EUQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_B632SV50HRGCJD7DJ8ZV

You have a 68-70 Buick 8.2” 10-bolt. That rearend is unique to itself. No other parts will fit that. There are currently no gear sets available for that. FabCraft has made 3:42 and 3:64 gears, but have been sold out for awhile. No telling if or when they will make more. You can get a posi unit from FabCraft,MonzaZ,or myself, but without gears, there’s not much use for one.

Thank You for your reply. I just spoke with Fabcraft And got my name put on a waiting list. He mentioned he is close to finalizing an order for this gear set. Not sure if that means month or months. But appreciate your help. Which posi unit would you recommend?

Out of curiosity. OPGI is offering this saying it is compatible with a 64 to 72 skylark. Available late April? Is this gear incorrect?

That gear set from OPGI will NOT work. That is for the more common BOP 8.2”. The 68-70 Buick 8.2” is all by itself.

They never give dates or time frames.... Really sketchy on time ... never seen a business run like that before. They could be making money hand over fist.... ???
    Anyway... Were ALL waiting...........

Pretty sure they want 100% sold when made, and need enough buyer to make the order. That doesn’t leave any extras when Simone else in the future decides that want gears. Stuck waiting again.

I never heard doing business like that??? So weird.
I have made 12 bolt olds rear posi and 9.3 rear posi units...I just laid the money down and did business. I do not see how they can think they will not sell.
They need to do the items they have a corner in the market on and push them....??? Jim

Makes sense to me. They have sold out every time they made a run. Just do another run.

Yep, I would buy too. But I just can not have money tied that I can be making money with for gears that may or may not ever come to be. ?
