: Hi new to the fourm. However have been spending alot of time with my Buick. I can use some help. I was lucky enough to find a 69 GS stage 1 # match car half completed. ( I checked everything, it is.) However I sent alot of parts to be rechromed 3 months ago and was just told the original valve covers are junk and can not be rechromed. Does anyone have a set I can send him he said he will do them now or a decent repo. or a nice pair. This and a trunk trim is all I need to finish the car.

    Welcome to the board.

Hope this helps. The vavle covers you need would be from a 67 - 69 400-430 engine. The 455 covers are a different style. I think the vavle covers from 67 have plug wire holders built in and are not correct for a 69, but should work.

69 Stage 1 Chrome Valve Covers

I may have a set of original chrome ones. Not new but usable. I think I would have a set of 68/9 painted ones that could be chromed. Let me know if you are interested in either. Thanks Bill Sangster

Would it be an option for you to pick up a pair of stock valve covers (used) and have them chromed?

Yea as long as they have the flat spot for the 400 stage 1 sticker in the middle. I know I am showing my ignorance but I am a reformed chevy man.

I have a good used set of '69 painted valve covers. You can have them for shipping costs, I don't need them. Going to Daytona for the weekend, be back on Monday. Email me at tecit99@hotmail if you want them. Dennis

Standard valve covers can be chrome plated but they have to be in very good condition. I sent a pair to the platers to get chromed ( I thought they were in very good shape) and they would not do them because the very small rust pits would stand out with new chrome (paint will fill in these imperfections). I am glad the shop did not plate them instead of just doing them no matter what they looked like.

I would like to find a very clean set of '68 valve covers to be chrome plated myself... You have first dibs....:TU:
