Different kind of kill story but goes to show one of the reasons I love my big old detroit iron. This was wayyyyyyy back in 1991 when I owned a 69 GS 350. Was delivering pizzas in the Chicago area. Was sitting at a blind stoplight one day, unable to clearly see oncoming traffic, when I decided "what the hell, I got enuff HP to make a left before anyone can come over that hill". WRONG! Some kid in a little Honda or Nissan or something comes flying over the hill and wammo runs smack into my right rear quarter panel. Being young myself I started wigging out thinking my axle was bent and my car was totaled. I park in a lot a short ways away and walk around the rear of my car. I almost laughed!! The little trim piece was bent and bondo had flew in all directions but my baby was otherwise intact. I walked over to the little foreign car and Im sure i was smiling. His entire front clip had been pushed back about 4 inches, headlights smashed, hood mangled and god knows what else. I probably smiled the whole time the cop was writing my ticket. I happily drove away to deliver more pizzas while he was waiting for the tow truck.

Sad to say I traded that car a short while later for a Pontiac Trans Am which I later started a resto on and never finished. But Im happy to say I now own an old skylark AND an old Trans Am.

Haha, I love stories like that.

My dad had our truck ('88 Sierra 4x4) parked on the side of the road. A lady wasn't paying attention and completely drove off the road and into the back end of our truck, in her new Intrepid. Smashed her front end completely, and gave our bumper a minor dent (about the size of a quarter). I thought the parking pin would have snapped off.
