I'm looking for the auto trans crossmember and side brackets for a 1969 Skylark convertible. I've been told this is a convertible only part. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The car is on the lift with a new trans ready to go in. Nothing to hold it in. The old crossmember disintegrated.

    Any help would be appreciated

If it's just the ends that are bad there are repair kits to fix the ends. I'm pretty sure someone on the board sells them, maybe Mike Garrison?

Or, you can measure and weld some flat stock on the ends.

You can buy the mounting brackets and rubbers from several sources, I think those should be the same for hardtop and convertible.

Yes thats right, I have the weld on ends to repair the cross member. They are $15 a pair plus shipping. Its alot better than looking for the crossmember.

I am told that a sportwagon will also fit the convert .

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

All GM A-body wagons had a boxed frame so those will have the same x-mbrt. Some ElCaminos have boxed frames too. You can also use one from any 69-72 Grand Prix since those all had boxed frames.

If nothing is near you, get Mike's kit and you will be set.

The rubber isolators and caps/ends are available new from www.opgi.com

Thanks for the help guys. My trans shop actually fabricated new crossmember ends and brackets for me. Not too pretty but functional.
I also found that The Parts Place Inc. has a repro x-member,bracket and rubber isolators. I may actually replace the Monster Garage setup the trans shop did for me at a later date.
