won,t go into low there is not enough room in the slide of the consol, it hits the back before it will get into low. If i take the console off and shift no problem , but with the console on it physically limits it to get back there. If I slide the console back so I can get into low I can't get it into park.

I can think of a few things I've run into. Both are easy since you say the shifter works with the console off.

First, be sure all the slop is out of the linkage, cable and brackets. Any extra movement will impede your shifting.

Due to the sweep of the shifter, if the back is up too high due to carpet or other reasons or shifted forward relative to the shifter, it will keep the shifter from going all the way back. Make sure the console sits as far forward as possible and that the rear is as far down as possible without damage.

Next, if the shifter goes into park tightly, you may just need to loosen the cable a bit and let it settle. It is sometimes an art getting all the gears. I generally put the shifter in neutral along with the transmission and tighten it down there and see where I am. It often only takes a little adjustment from there to get it right.
