Ok, I know some people have asked about them so I made some copies of the 70-72 books. I know one guy wanted a set of three and am in contact with him, but what I need to know is who else asked me for one and which year book they wanted. This is not a “for sale” post but is a request for info so I can take care of the people that asked for one. Later I will see what I have left and post that. So if you asked for one let me know. Duane
I would be interested in a 70 Book Duane . I can't remember if I asked before . That's the problem with getting old . Thanks. Lou
I would be interested in a 1970 Assembly Manual if the pages are all good copies. I have a book but, many of the pages are copies of copies and are barely readable with many too faint to make out.
I have a copy of your '70 manual but would like copies of the '71 & '72. Probably has some different revision pages than the ones I already have.
Duane's "copies" aren't the crappy nth generation ones you might get on eBay. In fact after getting a '68 assembly manual, I burned the eBay copy I had. It's perfectly legible and clear.
Lou, I remember us talking about me getting you a 70 book, so I will put one aside for you. Yeah the copies of the 71 & 72 books are super clean and you can read everything. The original 70 book I copied was not as clean but is very legible. The only thing is some of the part numbers are hard to read as well as some of the dates in the revision blocks, but the copy I have is from near the end of production and has all the GSX info and almost all of the revisions. For some years I have had multiple versions of these books, so I have been able to “fill in” some of the missing pages, but for the most part they are basically complete. At most they are missing only a few pages. For one year book I do remember making up the page for the optional rims. That page has never been found, so I copied one out of the “Color and Trim Book” for that year and put it in for completeness. Also, the 72 book has almost 80 more pages then the other two years. The extra pages are almost all in the engine section due to all the emission parts that were put on those engines. They are also more costly to print. As an aside, I remember when I copied either the 66 or 67 book some of the chassis pages folded out like an accordion and were almost 3 feet long. I had to copy those pages on one of the document printers at work. Duane
Duane, I just checked my '70 manual and it's very readable so, put me down for just a 1971 manual, please. That's the one with the hard to read pages.
Good seeing and talking to you and Beth today Duane . Thanks for the book . Now if I can figure out what the hell I did with the date Code book .
I would like a '71 assm. manual please, the one I have is an ebay one I think and many pages are hard to read. Also, do you still have any By the Numbers Books, Ive been meaning to ask you about that for a while now. Thanks Steve
Steve, I sent you a PM. David “the parts man” sells the numbers books, I sell the date code books but will not have any until the end of the summer. Duane
My manual was a repop from years ago. Starting to fall apart. If you get around to offering a 1971 then I would take one.
Question. Do you or anyone have them on digital media for my centurion dads regal or my 66 gs? Would sure help when im kinda flying blind.
Dumb question, what's the difference between service manual and assembly manual? I have '71 service manual, and part #s 1940-1972
Assembly manual is what was used at the assembly plant to build the cars orig. & filled with drawings, option data, etc. Many of the drawings in the Chassis Service Manual are the same as the assy. manual w/the part #'s, etc. removed.
Also, You have no idea at what time of the model year the pictures/drawings were made in the Chassis service manual, as the could be any revision in the model year. Duane
