All the cable I see don't have the correct transmission end. My old one has a straight rod end, not the eyelet. Someone has to make the right one:confused:

The transmission end is supposed to have a straight rod. No threads or eyelet. The rod fits into the trunnion. There a bot that hold the adjustment. I think Mike Garrison makes a repro trunnion

Two ways to approach this, go through the motions and return your part for the "rite" part. Assuming its as simple as that. Or get the linkage arm that has the end that works with your cable . Probably would just need a cotterpin, e clip , spring washer, a nut , and the little nub that the eyelet fits over, I call them linkado's

It actually means, "I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery" Thomas Jefferson used it in one of his writings. But I think you already knew that. And yes, I agree with your translation too.

Now before we get into trouble here, one more question for you guys while I have you here and so I don't have to go searching through my books-

Is the transmission mount (the one that bolts to the pan rail) for the shifter the same for 350 and 455?

No. The bolt holes are different distances apart.

What James said. I "ll add that some will have a universal style with some elongated holes. It should also have longer bolts and spacers between pan and bracket. So If you have the cable with the non threaded rod then the rod will go into a linkado with a hole in it with a lock down on the outside , it will have to pivot ware it attaches to the transmission shift lever, the part on. the transmission . Im glad my Rivi just uses metal rods, Cables are too dam fussy , or sticky.

MOLON LABE i have not a clue what this means.

Its ancient Greek for "come and take". Its what King Leonidas said to the Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae when they demanded the Greeks surrender their weapons

I should of known. I have a console and shifter on Ebay and listed as fitting a 350 or a 455. Hopefully the guy who buys it has a Skylark! Otherwise I'll have to buy him a T-400 bracket

    I used one from Tamraz on a '68/350 turbo & it was a BOLT-IN.

You should say what transmission it fits rather than engine.
