We are getting a lot of requests to do this front spoiler out of ABS instead of the fiberglass one we sell now. Anybody have any interest on this board for this part?
Shane Duane H. on this Board already makes these. I suspect he would supply you guys too. I have some of his and they are top shelf.
Shane, I don't know how long you have worked for The Parts Place, but I have known Joe, the owner, for something like 20 years now. I have had conversations with him about supplying interiors to TPP when I worked at Inter Coach Products in the mid 80's, and then later when I started my own company of Classic Car Interiors. Then last year Joe personally called me again because he wanted to reproduce 70 GSX steering wheels and offered to supply me with reproduction centers so I could see if they would fit in my mold. If they fit, and the price was less, the hope was that the part price would come down. That was our last conversation, and I have not seen a repro steering wheel center, so possibly Joe is not interested in pursuing this further. I also asked him why he started reproducing some of the same parts I was making. Basically he said he did not know the parts were reproduced, so he made them. I don't know how that was the case, because they have been listed in the Year One, and other vender catalogues, for something like 10 years or more, but so be it. If you, as in The Parts Place, are interested in buying some of my front spoilers, let me know. If you are going to reproduce that part also, then I wish you well. Duane

IF it were me I would take a little different aproach with the reproduction parts. I would first try to make something that everyone wants that is NOT already made. I believe that some simple reasearch would probably provide you with some answers of WHAT ELSE needs to be made. This type repro would be of far greater use to me. possibly a post on this or other buick oriented boards would help, since you don't know the Buick community.
Anyone Who has purchased parts from Duane knows his are the best!!! He is a proven winner and stands behind his parts. If Duane is reproducing parts I will buy them from him. He has done a lot for this hobby and this should be his reward.
