I got the chassis powder coated and I'm finally getting around to installing the brake and fuel lines. I bought the whole package (OEM steel) from Inline Tube. Although I have the correct factory chassis service manual, the pictures don't show everything. The photos I took before disassembly are for $#!^ and I as hoping one of you would have some good photos of how the chassis is supposed to look with the lines installed. A completed chassis would be even better. Bob
If you don't mind me asking......how much did a frame powdercoating cost you? BTW it looks great!!!!! Dave
Cost to Powder Coat Frame and Suspension Components The actual powder coating cost was around $1200.00. That included all suspension components, including the new coil springs. Media blasting was around $500.00. TIP: Although powder coating covers sanding scratches, it doesn't hide the pits that are left after sand blasting the rust off. Instead, it highlights them. If, after sand blasting, you have areas that need to be sanded smooth, it's OK to finish with a disc sander loaded with a semi-aggressive grit (80). The swirl marks will be hidden.
I put a new set on my car two years ago. Exactly what are you looking for pics of? The lines running down the frame on the driver's side? By the fuel tank? By the distribution block? Let me know. My car is up on blocks right now and pics would be easy. PM me with your email address or I can post here.
Have you been to my website?... lots of general pics and I can get you pics of original and after installs of all my lines (detailed close ups)...its a 72 but wouldn't have changed much except for the prop valve.... http://members.shaw.ca/orangecrush/chassis.html later Tim
Thanks Guys The photos are just what I need. Tim - Your website is excellent!! I went through the whole thing and I'm quite sure I'll be there a few more times. Thanks again my Buick brothers! Bob
