I was made an offer I couldn't refuse on the carcass of that 70 estate wagon my buddy's towing company got in. The 455/TH400 went to his boss along with the nose section and a few other tidbits. There's still plenty of this thing left to salvage.
The hood, fenders, doors, tailgate, and one quarter don't look too bad. There's a whole set of power windows including the one at the rear. There's also a tilt column with a pretty decent looking blue steering wheel and a speed warning cluster behind that. Some of the AC system is still intact. There's an extra strato-bench with the power tracks still attached. None of the drip rails windshield and quarter window moldings or the stainless door window pillar wrappings have been hammered, not to mention all of the tinted glass panels (except the windshield). Basically we'll just be charging for our time and labor to safely remove the reusable pieces without causing damage to them or to any of our body parts. There's no posi, no disc brakes, no nice dash pad, no decent door panels, no door mirrors, no grille, front bumper, or core support.
We will be dissecting this thing pretty much down to the skeleton since the rolling chassis and probably the floor pans too are set to get used for a bagged Chevy Kingswood hot rod project by a nearby custom shop. Everything else is available now, or as soon as we remove it.
Since I'll be pretty busy until the chassis is ready to deliver I won't be able to respond to any inquiries posted here. Simply email me (DO NOT SEND PM's) if you want something so I can get the call back phone number here sent out to you. I can check emails via my cell phone and respond to those much faster than having to log back in via computer.
Anything that is not exactly shippable economically or practically can be picked up at our Highland, Ca. Buick butchery yard or perhaps at my concrete filling cabinet in Warehouseville, Ca. where highways 60/215/91 meet.
Basically we'll just be charging for our time and labor to safely remove the reusable pieces without causing damage to them or to any of our body parts. Most items will be in the Lincoln, Hamilton, Jackson, and even the Grant price range. There will be some things that shall require a Franklin but not too many. I want to be as reasonable and fair as possible so every single realistic offer shall be considered.
