When I got my 70 Electra convertible the guy who sold it to me said the top seals were all replaced, but on the way home last summer we went through some heavy rain and high wind. I noticed the front seat had water on it. Then last week I took it to the local wash to get it ready for a show, and noticed the same thing. I know its from that front top seal because it drips off the rear mirror as well. Its not hard or cracking and appears to not be very old. The previous owner also rebuilt the whole top frame, and hydraulics when he put the new top on it. My question is how do I check the seal to see if its seating right on the channel, before deciding its a lost cause and replace it?
Have someone run a hose on that area to see exactly where the water is coming in and then decide on a course of action.
