Nope. Either gauges were added or maybe the tach removed in lieu of the hood tach (unfortunately) & a rallye clock wasn't added. Not a huge fan of red (for myself) but if I was to have a red convertible, that's the color combo I'd want.
Of course we'd never say never, but officially, the gauges were only available with either a tach or rallye clock on a GS but not alone & not w/a standard (non-rallye) clock although IIRC gauges were a stand alone option on a Skylark as was a standard clock.
No, not anything is possible. The following are the ONLY Gauge options 1970-72 . 1. 12 hour clock: in right cluster pod with standard speedo in center and standard fuel gauge in dash left pod with idiot lights. 2.Rally Gauge cluster: left dash pod Fuel, Oil pressure, Water temp gauges, standard speedo in center pod with 24 hr Rally clock in right pod. 3.Tach and Gauges: same as rally gauge cluster, expect 24 hour rally clock replaced with a 6000 RPM tach in right dash pod.
I think Frank was referring to mistakes or let's say they ran out of rallye clocks, they weren't holding up the line. Wouldn't shock me to find a GS that was built w/gauges & a standard (or no) clock (esp. a Freemont car!).
