The Stage One Emblem Would Go Above The Body Line Not Below

Those two wholes would be for the stainless trim that went down the side of the body. I have it on my car.

The option was called W4/Y51 "Protective Body Side Moldings (Body Side, Rear Quarter, Front Fender)", I believe. Since the doors & leading rear quarter areas do not appear to have the same holes, I doubt the front fender(s) are original.

The rocker panel stripes appear to be red and weathered ... a GS only color on this trim piece (although these, too, could have been changed). Need the numbers off the cowl tag ...

I looked at this today, wow what a ruff ruff car. The VIN tag was so rusty I couldnt see the VIN. It was there, i couldnt read it. Had a skylark hood with a GS center section cut out and weled to the skylark hood. Ruff front bumper, skylark grille. Decent fenders. the front clip was white and primed over. doors rusty inside, had the studs all the way down for the mldgs. Jambs where red, was green under the vinyl top. Rt 1/4 was so soft you could poke your finger through at the bottom.

Lt 1/4 was full, and i mean full of bondo like 1/2 inch thick in spots. Tilt wheel good seat cores, riviera conslole i think. Open differential, and had a rt alum drum. Couldnt get the hood up, to see tags. says there is a 70 455 non orig there, and the orig 400 turbo in trunk, couldnt get keys to see in the trunk. vin on door sticker tore, all i saw has an H, some idiot on the phone called and told him H meant it was a GS..said he had title. Said the phone was ringing off the hook for the car.

I said without seeing the VIN , i was wondering if it was a GS, he said, this car was registered with the GS club, and that H means its real, those red rockers make it a GS..or something like that. He said somone on the phone decoded it, and that its real....

i called 4 times before i got in touch, he wouldnt quote me a price on the phoine, said come look at it, and we'll talk, lucky i lived 20 minutes from there, cuz it would have been a wasted trip...he wants $4500 for the car, he said he never had so much action on a car, and there where 2 guys in Indiana wanting it, first come first served....

Maybe its worth it, i dont know, but it was too high for me, and anyone making a trip should be aware it a car needing a full blown resto, and needs everything......

Im not judging anyone here, just making an honest description...

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I called him and had him read the vin off to me and told him the first part of the vin is the car ( GS 455 ) 0 is the year (1970) and H is the plant (flint) what the hell :Do No: I guess he did not listen to me at all:Do No: H means its a GS :Dou: :Dou: :spank: I also asked him about the condtion of the car and he told me " Its super solid with no rust" what a FU**ing joke. I hate NON car people selling these cars. I would love to find a 70 GS455 for under 4k to fix up but guess I am just dreaming.......I was hopefull this car could have been had for a good price and be fairly solid. I did not care about #s match or the problem with the GS hood. I just wanted it to be a real 1970 GS455.....the search continues
