Here is picture of one of our samples of the 70 GS grille the way it is going to be painted. Is this paint sceme correct? We want to make sure the paint is correct so we can get the paint mask made for them so we are not waiting around, any comments? Also don't forget that to get them for the $399 introductory price you will have needed to pre-oder them with us before our first shipment comes in.
Paint scheme not correct. Grill portion should be black also center portion and outline around grill.
To the PP ---The grille is definitely not complete as presented. Are you asking if just the silver shade is correct? If not, a correction needs to be made.
Sorry, Looks like I accidently posted the picture of the grille before paint, and cannot find the picture of it painted. I can't snap a new picture of it as we all ready shipped it back. Well I guess just go ahead posting more pictures as they seem to be a good source. Basically we need to find out if they are 2 tone or 3 tone. Silver, Charcoal, Black? All info is greatly appreciated. Thanks Ahead of time.
Dustin, I think if you clean that baby up a little and shoot some better pics they can get a better idea of the scheme. If you have the time of course. Nice score by the way. Your luck never ceases to amaze me.
Shane Part of the confusion may be caused by the fact that I believe the paint scheme on the 70 GS grilles was changed somewhat during the 70 model production year. We will try to get Dave Tumas, Duane or Mark D. to jump in and explain this change so you guys can make a decision.
Most of the grilles I've seen, both NOS and original, were three colors, i.e; silver for the body, satin black for the middle bar, and satin charcoal for the mesh area. All the one's I've redone were redone to match that scheme. Recently I've seen several grilles, at the Nats, etc., that were black in the mesh area. However, without proof they came that way, I'll continue painting them with three colors. IMO, they look better with the charcoal mesh anyway.
