70 GS Hood Scoops

I just got a set of hood scoops and Seal plates from PAE for my 70 GS and had some color questions. I believe the scoop should be painted to match the color of the car but, what color are the Seal Plates suposted to be? I didn't have any in the car to reference. I'd apreciate any help here.

 

Scoops are body color
seal plates are bare plastic (fiberglass?). dary gray/charcoal color

Are the scoops body color through out or are they painted black on the bottom facing the engine compartment?

You can't see them from the underside - the plates are in the way.

 

well mine are pretty visible (see upper RH corner of attachment) :grin: so for the judges eye what is correct semi-flat black or body color on the bottom of the scoops?

My bad! You'd think I haven't owned one or another of these cars for most of the last 20 years. ou:

So much for my new years resolution to stop talking out my :moonu: .

 

Personally, since a judge would stop judging my car after looking at the VIN, I say forget the judge and leave the bottom of the scoops red. Looks really good and draws attention to how good the underside of your hood is :TU:
