https://www.facebook.com/groups/BuickGSOwners not mine Jimmy Edlin 1970 Buick GSX 455 automatic. Good solid project car. Has already had quarters and trunk floor replaced. Will make someone a nice car. Restore it or restomod it, this is a good car to do either with. The owner has to many cars, so this is someone's lucky day. Located in Columbus, Indiana. $48,900 OBO
Oh, it would be so tempting to frame off everything except the body but have paint all over that looks like the front clip and doors. Build it to run 11s. Oatrick
I am only 30 minutes from this place. Just down the road from my buddies Rhino liner shop. I could maybe put eyes on it if needed. Troy
I saw there was also a 1970 455 convertible for sale from same person. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=278733894495483&set=pcb.10159613396782336 Troy
I will be very shocked if it gets sold for that price. The post shows nothing to support claims of it being a real GSX. Yeah it may be tempting but hard not to do a full frame off when its a real GSX. I had all kinds of ideas about doing things to mine but at the end of the day it will look so much nicer with fresh paint
I just saw the FB Marketplace add for this car. Looks to be a lot of information, including a blurry picture of the cowl tag. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/120111321121690/
They have updated the add and added more information. The cowl tag is definitely a Q-Q. Will be interesting to see if anyone steps up to buy it.
The price of admission seems pretty steep, until you look at what people want for a restored, numbers version.
It's right at the price with the major metal work, if done correctly when completed might be a break even. A few years ago one sold for 50k that had more rust than the Titanic. Every piece of metal needed replacement. If the door was stuck, you could have crawled in through the rear quarters.
He has that for sale too Bill. https://www.facebook.com/groups/696037383929048/permalink/2094881940711245/
Your right I remember that. I would agree to a point that the price is believe it or not about right. If they get 45k for it and you could restore it for 70k your in it for 115k and we all have seen what they are bringing at auctions (Not just Barrett Jackson) So I think a lot depends on if this is something someone can afford and someone really wants to restore. It could be a great car when done but to get it back together could get really costly. I also think if someone has the ability to do a lot of the work they could get it back on the road maybe not 100% perfect for less than 70k. I would imagine the paint and body work is whats going to be the most costly part of the restoration and that may not be as bad as others being this car has already had some work done.
