Why don't you just sell me that old Black SX conv and you can have the funds to become a real Bufford Guy. John
70 Gsx Trunk lid was replaced, not hood. He said it was too rusty to fix. Looking at the rest of trunk, I'm not sure It couldn't have been saved. o No:
70 Gsx Nice try John but no deal. :error: Why don't you buy my 72 instead. That sure would get me started. Give me a call again and let's see what we can work out! :TU:
70 Gsx Any good leads on an honest appraisal for my GSX? uzzled: Looking for insurance purposes an such.
70 Gsx I've talked to the second owner of the car last week-end. He informed me that the car was originally purchased from a dealer in Saint Paul, Min.. The guys name was Pat something. Bought it when he got home from the service. Later he moved to Wisconsin, then sold it to the second owner. It's a real shot in the dark, but would anyone know who this Pat is??? uzzled: Second owner said he raced it a lot. Got in high 12's regular. :3gears:
Progress  Got some things done on the GSX. Not great progress, but something. Put some things back together and cleaned her up. Here's some pictures. It was getting late, so not the best. Couple of things I want to do yet before I can take it out for a spin! Anyways, here they are. :TU: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/a63160cf.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX034.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX033.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX032.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/5426a3d8.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/6e6ecaf4.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/6a710772.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/3032f97e.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/bb76dee1.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/bf135af4.jpg
Allright.........enough of this Buick talk here (no matter how rare and desirable (reminds me of a quote by Jeff Sawruk  ). Get over on your side of the fence! :spank:
dale good job i have a 68 gs 400 i'll trade  looks good.hey dave did you forget this is a BUICK SITE :spank: ed
No, didn't forget. Thought this was a storm shelter inside the fortress of portholes and Dynaflows where we could hide. If a total Buick site, I can be flushed out and go away......no problem. But then, who would you pick on? Mopar guys? They're like Huns! (Rape, pillage, leave no prisoners). Personally I like seeing some interest in the Ford marque. Only wish I could afford one. But if I had that kind of money (and the outlook at this station in life isn't good), it'd be a 61 or 62 Catalina. Scuse me, possible woodie on the way!
nice find! it's coming along great dale! nice to see a gsx end up in the right hands. good luck with it! :beer
Kinda figured that. Never know though when you're in enemy territory. Don't know who owns that 61. It was at Milan Dragway with the Pontiac club last week and a friend snapped this pic. Jeff Sawruk may know who that is. Those things are gorgeous and really get on down the track. Not as heavy as you may think, either. I'm surprised there aren't more of these early B bodies in Pure Stock. There's a coupla Impalas, a sprinkling of Mopars (noisy nasty things), and a coupla Pontiacs. These cars are awesome. Oh yeah.....and a lone Mercury....how could I forget that? o No:
no enemy's here. :beer i like all things muscle.i was at byron dragway back in august and arnie "the farmer" beswick was there with his tempest.that was cool to see go down the track.i have allways liked the early 60's era pontiacs.they had style ed '72 black gs 350(14.62 @94.3 at 2005 psmdr) :3gears: '68gs400
New pics I'm probably boring you guys by now. :boring:  But until my excitement seeps away, I guess I'll keep sharing it with you. Got the Gsx out in the sun today (sort of) and took a couple more pictures. Just thought I'd post. :Comp: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX041.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX043.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX044.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX045.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX035.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX037.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX038.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX047.jpg http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/70SXW32/70GSX048.jpg Car is looking good, but a lot is just cosmetics right now. Pictures help it look pretty good. Some of you might be able to tell me what's missing under the hood? If this is getting too much, just let me know. :spank:
Tranny Got a different shifter cable on and it shifts but won't go. Talked to previous owner and he said it worked for him, but it did have a leak. When I got it, it was low and I added what was needed, but still no go. Nothing! No reverse, 1st, nothing. Could the seals have dried up from sitting low on fluid? Or is there a vacuum modulator or something else causing problem? o No:
Secret Handshake Well, now you've discovered the need for the secret Buick Handshake and initiation into the left turn signal club. If you'll send $1000 or three cases of Geritol we can arrange to have you a "made man" in the Buick community and you'll never have any more of these problems - truly an offer you can't refuse! Seriously - the vacuum modulator controls upshifts, should not have any effect on getting into low or first gear. You did fill it, start it, run the shifter through, and check the trans fluid level, right? If not, do that to make sure it's really full. If it still won't shift into gear after you make sure it's full you probably have some stuck valves in the shift body or a really plugged filter. Or the pump is shot. Or.. Ask your Q in the "juice box" part of this board - you'll get quicker (and more clever) responses there.
