Alan F sent me this message regarding the repro 1970 GS taillight production: David, We are simply waiting on the first production run to be completed. GM Licensing on these and some other parts came through and we are full speed ahead. I am hoping to post an update very soon saying "Come and get them" LOL. We now have GM licensing for the Coolant Reservoirs, ALL of the GS grilles from 67 to 72, ALL tail lights from 67 to 72, and the Side Marker lights from 70-72. This isn't all though. We had about 45 parts we applied and received GM Licensing for. Take care and we'll let you know something SOON. Alan
It's a shame that GM won't help with any kind of repro stuff for our Buick's!:Brow: Oh well...wishful thinking!
wouldn't you think GM probably has the molds somewhere in a warehouse or such for all these parts? maybe not, but it's a bit sad to think about.
Alan pursued that route, molds no longer exist. However, they did provide engineering drawings, which Alan said his manufacturer said was almost as good as getting the original mold.
Has anyone heard anything new on the lenses? I'm patiently awaiting their arrival to order mine:Brow:

How much are these taillihgts, I,ve got 2 70's here, and even though they both have good tailights, I wouldn't mind having a spare set, just in case something bad should happen. I can never find these in good shape in the junkyards. I can find the 71s and 72s, but never the 70s. And if I do there allways busted up beyond repair, or not usable. Pretty cool:TU: that they come with new gaskets too. Thanks Alan if you happen to read this for taking the time to do these repros.
Has anyone heard anything new? I'm ready to put down the $230, I need 'em! I have a rear bumper that just had a 3 step chrome plating job:eek2: , and ugly lenses just wouldn't do it! Allen doesn't have a small 1st run availible does he? I thought he was going to take a couple pairs up to the Nats to sell. I can't wait much longer!
