Saw this on Ebay. Looks like the 70 only craftsman kit (sealed hood) has been re-released. Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/AMT-MK-1970-Bui...oryZ2582QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Thats great news. I always wanted one of those! I'll add it to the collection of unbuilt kits I'm getting to.
It was a pretty decent kit, by 1970 standards. The only real problem was that the wheelbase is off (too long), but it's an easy fix.
I don't know about the wheelbase being off. It looks pretty good to me eye. Pics of the new kit can be seen at modelroundup.com Or if you are having trouble getting them at your local hobby store you can buy them direct from Model King by emailing mkdaveb at hotmail.com
The one I have is the original AMT "Motor City Stockers" release. Maybe the reissue has been corrected. The original issue's wheelbase was definitely a bit long. The front wheels sat too far forward, and the rear wheels were too far rearward; neither axle centered in their wheelwells as they should.
