Im looking for a parts or a car or a Yard that can help me restore my 70 Wildcat Conv. I know that the Lesabre and Wildcat shrare the same body, looking for quarters and trunk sheet metal. any one out there know of some one or a yard that can help 70 Lesabre's and Wildcats conv. or hard tops will help. email is calvin.dubose@us.army.mil
Wow Calvin, You picked a bad car to find parts for, especially sheetmetal. However, it seems to me there was a board member here from Arizona that had a 70 Wildcat hartop for sale with a really bad frame. I think the sheetmetal was nice. I can't seem to remember his name. Otherwise, you are in for a search. Good luck! :TU:
Calvin There is a 70 Wildcat convertible near me for sale asking price $4500. If you would like I could send you some pictures. The body is on good shape since it has benn in North Carolina all its life. Dave
70 Wildcat Conv Floydsbuick I know its a hard one to find parts for and there was only a few of the made and may be even fewer left .... But I have to try.......... a parts car like a Lesabre hardtop or conv. from TX. or AZ. would come in nicely, this is a restorable car and im not going to give up the search......... iI found to rust free fenders now i just need the quarters.......Ill find them and i wont give up the search ........too rare of a Conv. to not restore........the bad thing about it is I only need the half not the full and a few trim pieces for the fenders calvin
Calvin, Txgwildcat has a 70 Wildcat in Arizona, with a craptacular frame. He was trying to sell it, and I probably would have bought it if it wasn't for the frame having some gaping holes in it. He's on this board, if you'd want to look him up. I agree, a 70 Wildcat convert needs to be saved. -Romy
I kinda recall seeing Cat or Lesaber in one or two yards near here, that fit the bill. I'll check the one next weekend, I'll be at it scabing out some brake parts. But the other yard is in northren WY, and I do not have thie phone number. The yard in WY has many older Buicks, in a desert like area. A friend had a a 70 2 dr Lesaber, but got rear ended pretty good by a 1 ton Ford. I'll let you know what I find. o No:
70 Wildcat Eschilf thanks for your help and if your friend who car got wreck still has the car maybe some of the trim is still good, let me know what you find in your search for parts, it also its hard to find sites like this one with the some focus on Wildcats i own two of them a 65 and the 70 Conv. and only 1244 (rarer than the GS455) of those were made along with my 67 GS400 , the 70 Wildcats came with the first year 455 in them and there should be more info and focus for these cars on this site , So I say were you at BIG Cats drivers out there show some love and pics ......... :af: calvin :blast: calvin.dubose@us.army.mil
Calvin, There is a big car sub-forum on here for us Wildcat lovers. As far as fans of the 69/70 Wildcat, you got one here! Thems my favorite! Heres my basket case. Its parts from at least four different cars, but almost 100% solid metal (will be by spring anyway). The thing that sucks is that the left quarter is completely rot free. But its to smashed up to save, so I gotta install an NOS one that I have. Not looking forward to that.
Floydsbuick how did you attach the pic I have been trying to do so and was unable to ...needs some help o No:  im going to try again and hope it works As you can see the bad spots on the fenders and quarters it also has rust near the body mounts in the trunk area
Hey Dan Check this out the outside looks ruff but the interior was in great condition and this baby has bucket seats, it even has it on the build sheet , not sure if its a dealership add on but it does state bucket seats on it so it has to be restored. I have more pics also calvin
Wow! Buckets and console! Sweet. Sounds like all the rust in common spots. My body and frame were found in a local junkyard. It was an Arizona car that some junked up here. Pretty solid except for the front floor, which rotted when the top was left down. I'm in the middle of installing a LeSabre floor. My Solid four door LeSabre donor was $400, and the WC was $600, so there is much hope for you finding good used parts. Good Luck!
Dude, buckets and a console?!?! That's f*cking hot! I'm gonna be putting buckets and a console in my four door when I get around to it...probably right after I swap in a 6/5 speed :Brow: (since I'll need to at that point.) Man, that looks so sweet though. I really want a convertable, but I don't have room for it. I wanted to get one off of one of the board members, but I can't find anywhere to put it, so that's just not going to work. And you have that super rare (to my knowledge) cornering light option! Dude, where in Indiana do you live?
i have a 69 wildcat parts car, but the quarters are not that good but i am in indiana go buick go saw the car earlier this month the link in my sig will get you to some pictures. good luck randy
Romy I live in Ft. Wayne Indiana the car is currently in a garage of a property that i own,and has 83k miles on it it sat in a field for at least a year i tried to contact the owner several times and when i did he sold it to me it started right after setting so long i have 2 rust free fenders that i bought from AZ that are from a 70 Lesabre. or find a front clip from a 70 Wildcat , and cut out the corning lights if it don't have it, im waiting on pics of a wildcat front end now, i also have a 65 Wildcat with 57k miles on it , really nice car anyway how long have you been home from Iraq im currently in Afghanistan and will be home at the beginning of the year when i get back i'll get started on the cats ...........i'll get-er done calvin
What you need, I got... As you can see by my avatar, I've got a 70 catvert as well...sat in a barn for 20yrs...trunk is full of NOS parts...oh yeah, the best part...came with 2 leSabres and a 70 Wildcat HT parts cars... So what can I interest you in? Oh, they are Oklahoma cars. Fairly rust free. The cat has good front fenders, doors. front bumber has a quarter size dent in it. Hood is tweaked a little (rusted hinge). Interior is complete, but seats and dash are rough (windows were busted out at some point). Interior is black. Lesabre is in good shape, but is a 4 door, so I don't know what might work. Let me know if you are interested and I can get you pics. Cars are in OKC, OK. Later, Jason
Jason here is my email address calvin.dubose@us.army.mil send an email with as many pics as you can on the quarters and trunk sheet metal and the front end i just have rust in those areas, not bad but i want to do this resto right....also do you have a web site calvin
I'll try to get them Wed. I have to go to Colorado tomorrow. I don't have a website, but I can post them on my webshots page. Later, Jason
Very cool car Calvin. One of my high school friends circa 1979 had a '70 Wildcat convert- Yellow with brown interior-wish that one could be found! Nice job getting one with buckets and console- Good luck!
Just some FYI. I've decided to sell my 69 Wildcat project car. I haven't had time to touch it in two years, and it looks like I won't have anytime soon. Work, raising a family, etc. I can't find/afford storage either. So check it out in the "Cars for sale" subforum.
