For the most part that is true, but there were a few early applications that used 5/16" fuel lines instead of 3/8". Those filter housings are difficult to obtain, far as I now all the current production fuel filter housings use 3/8" inverted flare fuel lines.......Cliff

    Cliff,

Greg Gessler seems to have a lot of fittings here,

The 3/8 steel line use a 5/8-18 inverted flare fitting. Did the 5/16 steel line use a smaller fitting? Like a 1/2-20?

Yes, 5/16" steel fuel lines generally use a 1/2"-20 thread.

I use SAE wrench specs too. Like a. 9/16 wrench shoulder bolt for bell housing , 5/8 wrench fuel line , I think the 1/2 inch wrench lines would be restrictive.
