I need opinions on how to make this work on my 1972 buick 350 non egr intake manifold. Right now it's sitting about 1/2" above the driver's side bolt holes. The throttle linkage is holding it up. The heat riser wont reach and it looks a little large. I am upgrading from a 500cfm 2 barrel rochester. However, I can't drive my car until I do this swap, because the throttle linkage is broken in the Dualjet and I'm afraid pieces may shoot into my engine. I got this carb for free from my cousin in Colorado and I have no money whatsoever to get another one. It has a spacer plate or something by the looks of it. On the passenger side of the spacer plate a number 40719 is stamped into it, and on the driver side in a ring the number 7038405 is stamped. I'm assuming this plate is an adapter for whatever engine it was on previously. I know this is a '70 truck carb, does anyone have any suggestions as to make it fit, or should I try to sell it and get a good buick quadrajet core?

    Thanks,
    Mike the man.

I would sell it and get a Buick 350 carb. The jetting and rods are specific for the engine so why not start with the right carb and mke improvements from there.

Apart from getting a Buick quadrajet, can I just chop the lower section of that throttle linkage off? If I can it will fit the intake. I just want to make sure I don't need it for anything.

Yes, the lower section is for the TV cable of a 200R4 or 700R4 overdrive transmission. Do you need that? You can also just run a spacer.
