what is the best paint for inner fenders. when I bought care got a little overzealous in the clean up and ended up taking off some paint. seems like it is a semi gloss.

I've used either Rust-Oleum semi-gloss or take them off and have them powder coated which is even better! On one car I've used the Rust-Oleum semi-gloss and on the other car I had them powder coated I prefer powder coating which is more money but they are more impervious to spilling anything on them with a powder coating...

I had my inner fenders media blasted when I had the body done. After, I sprayed them with Rust-Oleum gloss over the bare metal. No prep - just a wipe with a tack cloth. What came out of it was a near perfect representation of how they looked new - just a small amount of gloss and a nice deep black.

I, too, used Rust-oleum but because the paint is like water, I laid on several coats. Results are great. Over the past 12 years, I have repainted the fender liners at least 3 times. The paint fades over time and then there are stone chips that have to sanded out.
Before I could actually the liners the first time, I had to employ a propane torch + 1" putty knife to remove the product "Rockhard Protectorant" that the previous had applied to the lines + firewall. What a job!

Rust-o it is then. but even though one inner fender got stripped, i guess i will have to mask of both and paint so they match.

Use the Rustoleum 1613 Semi Flat, BUT, buy the industrial grade from a place like Grainger.

The over the counter stuff had the formulation changed about 5 years ago, and is nowhere as good.

The industrial grade paint is great in sheen and durability.

Rustoleum takes too long to dry and bugs stick to it. Krylon or Duplicolor better.
