This approval gives you full access to the site, to pictures, and to post, among other things. To be able to enjoy the full potential of the board for you, you need to be fully registered.. and that's easy.. Just send an email to me at jim@trishieldperformance.com and I will verify your registration. I just registered on the recommendation of a 455 owner (sbp455) I met at a cruise in Plymouth, MI last week. I have a G S 350 and have been beating my head over the decision to pull the 350 and build a torquemonster 455 vs. rebuilding the 350 for moderate performance. The numbers match so I would put the block, tranny and rearend on a pallet for future reference if I went the 455 route. Of course $$$ is always a concern as well. After 2 days at the Woodward dream cruise seeing so many cars that are absolutely beautiful and perfect, I am starting to lean towards keeping the 350, doing a modest rebuild, and concentrating on the paint and interior detailing. I'll watch Ebay and pick up parts here and there. Thats more in my budget.

The big thing I hope to learn from this board is about Buick specific modifications for a '71 350. Theres a ton of info. on 455 motors and on small block Chevys. I believe I'm going to learn a lot from this board.

    Hey Mike
Glad to see that you found your way to the V8 board. I will still take you for a ride in my GS when I get some spare time. There are a couple of other guys that live in the area that I will introduce you to that have both 350 and 455 cars.
    Talk to you soon.

Welcome to the board!! I just did the swap you are talking about on my 72 GS vert, its not bad but some things you need to think about should you decide to go that route (my original drivetrain is in storage and will get rebuild later).

Once you've felt that 455 torque, its tough to go without it!!! You can still call it a 350 too if you want.

    Website has some details.

    later
    Tim
