I felt pretty lucky to have stumbled onto this one Last saturday i purchased a 71 gs 350. its got the turbo 350 with console and factory air. its brown with a tan vinyl top. there is some rust around the rear wheel openongs and behind front wheels on the fenders. but not really too bad. the floors are all very solid and the interior is PERFECT with the exception of 1 tear in the drivers seat. it has 101k on the clock and has only had 5k put on it since '81. 2 owner car to my knowledge both local. The last owner died a couple years ago and his wife was selling some of the stuff that she didnt have roomfor anymore. it had been parked for about 15years and they bought it with the intent to restore it. she said she drove it the last year before they parked it to work and it always started, ran and rode like a dream. After trailering it home i vacumed the carpet out to try and get rid of that musty smell. and the next day spent about 4 hours on the engine before it fired up. now it just needs a good tuning up and it should be road worthy. Hopefully by the time i've finished the 66 my bank account wont be to exhausted to do this one too...! :Brow: Boy i love the car hobby!:3gears: :bglasses:
I found it in the local garage sale listings. I guess being a packrat can payoff... I'll try to get some pitures of it posted sometime soon
I have a 71 GS also with air - I love it. I looked for a Chevelle with air for years and this car almost fell into my lap as it was for sale 1/2 a mile from my home! The ride is smooth and there is enough power. My little girls (7 and 3) love going to cruise nights in daddy's "old car".
