These Stg.1 heads are considered service heads. All 1240149 heads came with Stg 1 valves and Stg 1 springs. Very clean and painted. I will guarantee they are almost like new.
Postage paid in US $750..... Edited...now do I hear $650?

Had to abandon my big ideas of another engine build.

They have been run on a 12.50 ET Buick. Didn't find out how many miles, but apparantly very low miles. The owner, BOB (I think), was introduced to me by MIke Phillips at AM&P.
Mike said the guy took them back off to install aluminum Edelbrock heads. They do still look fresh. They are what I would call virgin heads. I see no mods of any kind. These are "service heads" and were likely bought new from a dealership.

I will get photos to e-mail for your help in posting.
I'll pull a couple of valves to show how clean they are "as is". I have not cleaned anything...Didn't see any reason to clean them.

In the pictures you will see:

The valves appear to be stainless steel. No pull on my magnet.
Dual coil springs and no-wiggle retainers. Appear to be TA1125 springs.
    Ports appear unported.
Heat crossover holes have been pluged.
Valve guides are machined for dual coil springs, and cut for seals.
Tag wired to head indicates spring pressure 125-130 lbs at 1.880" and 320 lbs at 1.380" This photo (#13) was accidentally omitted.

  10. Gary, these dont look like they have the factory unshrouding around the valves. did 71 heads not have this?

I am wondering the same thing.
Charlie Evans has a list of Buick head numbers. He notes a lot of details about the year, type of ports, low compression chambers, etc. This part number is listed as Factory service Stage 1. Apparantly not installed on the assembly line, but available over the counter for the performance oriented customers who wanted to upgrade their Buicks. Still seems strange why the factory would omitt the unshrouding unless they expected the buyer to do racing upgrades anyway.

These heads are now at mikes shop in philpot, Kentucky. That is am&p where big bad buck engines are built.
    I will take $650
and mike can tell you about their condition as he did the springs and valve touch up work.

Not sure but don't think they're milled. Mike should know.
Heads shipped for $650 in USA.
Tell mike to take care of this and keep what's left after shipping/handling for my project.

I sent pm's but this tiny phone screen and poor reception may be messing up.
Just want to know if your still interested in the heads.
AM&P has them there and Mike will handle the payment and shipping. I'm out on the road every week driving a truck and 100's of miles from home.

My ole GS is collecting dust til I get some bills paid.

Gary, these heads are 1971 non-stage1 service replacement heads, hence the S-1. Chris

These heads have stage 1 stainless valves. I guess that means they are stage 1 now. Plus they have TA double coil no-wiggle springs.
Mike Phillips at AM&P freshened them up for the GS that ran 12.50.
Mike said these are good heads.

Gary, I hope you didn't take my post as a negative. I was only stating how they left the factory. I think they are a great deal and I am surprised they haven't sold yet, you can't duplicate your haeds for any where near your price. Someone will end up with a great set of heads at a good price. Chris
