Guys, I just purchased the engine/trans from a 72 Electra 2 door from Jake's Used Auto Parts in Avondale, LA. The numbers are 504-437-0000 or 504-436-2220. This is a decent old car with some rust and dents, but is solid overall. He tried to sell me the entire car, but I simply do not have the time or room to house this one. I have both my GS and my GN on the "not running" roster, and I cannot spread myself any thinner. I did not take any photos, as I was not prepared for the car to be a decent piece, so no camera with me. This car is going to the crusher shortly. The motor will be pulled this week, and I am going to pick it up next weekend. I am feeling guilty about not saving the car, but cannot do any better right now. Someone please call the yard and claim the remains before it is turned into a new Hyundai. It would make a great resto candidate or parts car, as it was DRIVEN to the yard by the last owner. Update. I picked up the motor and trans from this car today. The carcass is now at the top of a 5 car stack. Time grows short for this old girl. The yard has little hope of getting anything else for the body parts around here. If you are in any way interested, call the yard at the number in my first post. I suspect the time left for the car is minimal due to the high volume of flood cars being recovered, towed, stored, and finally crushed at this facility. Thanks, Rudy E.
