There was a red 72 Buick wagon for sale in or near Texas a mexican family had that one for sale, I believe there were asking $5000,- for it. I can contact the guy who didn't go through with buying the car.
I found this behind my fold-down back seat when I took it apart for painting. It is handwritten, and all in odd cursive uppercase letters with numbers. I guess this has all of the option codes on it? David
Sure is impressive! Even as it is now, one would be convinced it came from the factory that way! :TU:
This is one of the best, coolest projects/threads I've ever seen on this site. Unbelievably cool and just keeps getting cooler. I cannot wait to see this freakin thing done, but I'm loving the progress photos. Does anyone remember when he grafted that sheet metal into the bottom of the clamshell? How cool was that?
Thanks y'all! :TU: This crazy project has taken so much longer than I thought it would. Your enthusiastic response really encourages me. David
Last week, I installed the cargo decking and folding rear seat. The cargo panels were rusted, so I had them dipped at Metal Rehab Technologies. They came back totally rust-free, and epoxy primed inside and out. http://metalrehab.com/ Finally, something is being put back together! Yea! David
Unbelievable!!! That is a FANTASTIC looking wagon right there!! Well done mate. Keep up the great work.
Gosh! I just LOVE when this thread is updated! This is probably the coolest car I have ever seen. Keep plugging along!
beyond the obvious inspirations ..... this thread is a good wake-up call to every guy that ever said "if i had a garage, i would be able to start fixing up this car.' keep up the good work!
I have been working on my engine compartment, trying to finish up detailing everything. I pulled the oil pan yesterday. Painted it today. I coated my exhaust manifolds with POR grey manifold paint. I bought new bolts for my exhaust manifolds. The only bolt not available from AMK is the 4" one. I bought a generic 4" bolt and cut the head in half and welded on the cap of a correct one. Why? Damned if I know!o No: These are all of the manifold bolts. Tomorrow, I will put the oil pan back on, new motor mounts, finally the exhaust manifolds, and valve covers. I started this underhood project way back in April, but when I broke two manifold bolts, I shut the hood and kept working on other things. I am good at denial. David
